Mohs reconstruction is a specialized procedure that restores the balance to your face after skin cancer removal. At AIREM, we not only specialize in Mohs reconstruction, but do so with immense compassion for you, your health and your appearance.
Consultation
During your one-on-one consultation, Dr. Park will listen to your concerns and develop a fully customized treatment plan to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. We believe in tailoring each surgery to the needs of the patient, and never want you to have more surgery than is necessary for the most natural-looking results.
Procedure
During the Mohs reconstruction procedure, Dr. Park will use a delicate technique of skin flaps and grafts to fill in the defect and create a smooth and even appearance. The extent of your treatment will vary depending on your skin cancer condition. Smaller skin cancer lesions may only require a limited procedure. Dr. Park will discuss the details of your procedure with you during your consultation.
Recovery
After your procedure, you may notice swelling and tenderness in your treated area. This is normal and typically diminishes within a few days. Most patients are able to return to their normal daily activities immediately following treatment with healing that occurs 1-2 weeks following surgery. Follow-up treatments may be required depending on the reconstructive needs of each case.
