Scalp and hairline advancement shortens the distance between your hairline and your eyebrows by moving the hair-bearing scalp forward and securing your hairline in a lower position on your forehead.

During your one-on-one consultation, Dr. Park / Dr. Hu will listen to your concerns and develop a fully customized treatment plan to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. We will determine how much lowering and shaping of the hairline is possible.
Procedure
During scalp and hairline advancement, we will plan the demarcation of your new hairline. Once this is drawn, an incision is made and the hair-bearing scalp tissues are freed. The final step will be to move the skin forward anywhere from one to three centimeters and remove any excess skin before closing the incision with sutures and applying a compressive surgical dressing.
Recovery
Recovery usually takes about a week, and many people return to normal activities after this. That’s usually enough time for much of the swelling and bruising that accompanies the surgery to subside, and you can anticipate being socially presentable at this time. After a few months, you’ll see hairs growing through the incision, and the incision itself should be well on its way to healing, though you may need to camouflage it using makeup for several weeks to months. You may experience temporary numbness at the incision site for up to four to six months after surgery. This will disappear as the nerves recover after surgery. Within six months, the incision will be fully healed and fading into a very fine, nearly imperceptible line. In the meantime, most patients choose to style their hair over the scar to keep it hidden from view.
