Details
Septoplasty enhances the functionality of your nose by reducing the curved or deviated portion of the septum. The septum is composed of cartilage and bone and separates the two sides of your nose. By straightening the septum and opening the airways, you can experience a significant improvement in your ability to breathe through the nose.
Consultation
During your one-on-one consultation, Dr. Park will listen to your concerns and develop a fully customized treatment plan to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. We believe in tailoring each surgery to the needs of the patient, and never want you to have more surgery than is necessary for the most natural-looking results.
Procedure
During your septoplasty, Dr. Park will manipulate and restructure the bones and cartilage in your nose to open up airways that have previously been obstructed. If your septoplasty is combined with cosmetic rhinoplasty, she will also reposition the bones, cartilage and skin around your nose to achieve your aesthetic goals. The surgery is performed in a private operating suite or outpatient surgical center under anesthesia. The procedure takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
Recovery
After surgery, there may be mild swelling and nasal congestion which subsides within 1 week. We will provide you with specific post-operative care instructions to help you stay as comfortable as possible throughout your recovery. Most patients return back to work within 5-7 days.. Avoid heavy lifting and rigorous exercise for at least 2 weeks following your procedure.
